Shared Branching Sweepstakes Demonstrates the Power of Credit Union Call Centers

Ontario, Calif.—(March 23, 2010)—Financial Service Centers Cooperative, Inc. (FSCC), the nation’s largest and most convenient credit union Shared Branching Network, announced today the call center outlets at Water and Power Community Credit Union in Los Angeles, California and First Credit Union in Chandler, Arizona had won the network's “Ultimate Tailgate Sweepstakes” by generating significant growth in Shared Branching transactions during the contest period. The call centers promoted Shared Branching at Vcom® machines inside select 7-Eleven® stores.

“FSCC sponsored the sweepstakes to see what kind of impact credit union call centers have in driving transactions to different channels,” said Sarah Canepa Bang, President/CEO, FSCC. “We were stunned at the growth in transactions generated by this promotion." Water and Power Community Credit Union generated more than 13,000 transactions in a two-month period, where First Credit Union demonstrated the highest percent increase in transactions with a dramatic 1,750 percent increase over last year.

As the recipients of the sweepstakes prizes, Water and Power Community Credit Union and First Credit Union received Credit Union for Kids gift cards in the amount of $1000 each.

The sweepstakes ran last October and November and will likely be repeated in the future.

“If there are more options and services for our members’ convenience, we will make those options available to them. We are a proud supporter of Shared Branching and its availability in 7-Eleven stores. Many of our members use the Vcom machines regularly and enjoy the convenience of having access to a full-service Shared Branching location after hours,” said Gary Iseminger, Call Center Manager, Water and Power Community Credit Union. “Water and Power Community Credit Union Call Center staff is thrilled to accept this prize, but more importantly we are pleased with how our members use the Vcom machines nationwide.”

“With nine branches spread throughout a metropolitan area covering 16,000 square miles, our members take full advantage of Shared Branching services. My Call Center Member Service Representatives are quick to refer our members to the services provided at various locations, including the 7-Eleven locations,” said Michael Dosham, Phone Center Service Manager, First Credit Union. “When we are on the phone with members and we know that they are looking for added credit union hours and services, we know that the 7-Eleven Vcom machines provide our members with one of the most convenient ways to perform transactions. They are located throughout the Phoenix area and can be accessed at any time of day.”
